At the recent Mail News and Media Business Awards Ceremony held in Hull, Optimus Services Ltd. were proud to receive the award for Start-up Business of the Year sponsored by Business Link, Humber.

The judges were looking for a young company, with a strong business plan, who could demonstrate sustainable growth and increasing profits. The company started trading in September 2005 from a standing start and achieved a £1.5 million turn over in its second year. Despite strong local competition, the selection panel felt that this achievement meant that Optimus merited the prize.

 

Optimus were also finalists in the Workforce Development category, sponsored by the University of Hull Business School. The judges were impressed with the company’s training program, in particular with its sponsorship of a graduate employee through his MSc.

 

Directors Alastair Robertson and Nick Jones, who received the awards, said “This is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work our staff have put in and we are delighted. We look forward the year ahead and hope to be in the Business of the Year category next time!”
