OSL CHOSEN FOR LINCOLNSHIRE OILFIELD REVIEW
Award-winning gas and oil consultancy, OSL, have been appointed to carry out a review of facilities at the West Firsby Oilfield in Lincolnshire as part of a programme to boost production.
OSL, based at Freightliner Road, Hull, have been engaged by Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) plc to carry out the work which they say will lead to a sustainable increase in production levels.
In addition to the comprehensive review of current facilities, OSL have been commissioned to design modifications required to increase the pumping capacity of the site.
This is yet another significant and high profile appointment for the Hull company. Since it was founded just four years ago, OSL has become well known in the competitive gas and oil sector.
Alastair Robertson, director and co-founder, said: “For OSL to be appointed to carry out this important review at West Firsby is further evidence that we are highly regarded in a very competitive sector.”Engineering studies have shown that increasing the flow through an improved jet pump system could increase the field’s oil production by more than 40 per cent.
In a statement, Europa described OSL as “a highly skilled team of engineers experienced in modelling and redesign of oil and gas infrastructure and are well qualified to deliver a solution capable of a sustainable production increase.” The company’s Managing Director, Paul Barrett, said: “This is part of a strategy to position Europa to better exploit its production assets when oil prices recover.”
With offices in Hull and Aberdeen, OSL is one of the rising stars working in the UK North Sea gas, European gas storage and the Norwegian gas and oil sectors. Founded in 2005 by Alastair Robertson and Nick Jones, the company recorded a turnover of £3m last year and is forecasting a figure of around £4.4m for 2009, including an export total of £1.8m
OSL was named Small Business of the Year in the 2008 Hull Daily Mail Business Awards and was a finalist in the International Business category in this year’s prestigious NOF Energy Awards.
